Lake Providence Update 11/6/99 Just a quick note to touch base with everybody about the latest goings on at Lake Providence. To date we have four families living out here. The McCleskeys, Scotchs, Wrights and Wolnskis (Peter and Amy). The Wessons are working hard to get out here soon too. The bass and bream were hitting good this summer. We're still on the catch and release program. Next year according to Mickie we can begin to take them out. The lake is down about 18" but still looks good. We had a great turn out the other weekend to seed and straw the recreation field, dam and spillway. With a little more rain we should get a good stand of grass to play on this coming spring. Everybody is encouraged to stay off the seeded areas. We have had a problem with locals trespassing on the property and driving around on the rec. field after our hard work. It's been roped off and a "Keep of the Grass" sign put up. Hopefully this will keep cars off. We've also been having a problem with people trespassing and roaming the back of the property and fishing the lake. As more families get out here the problem should taper off. In the mean time though, a cable has been put up across Lake Providence Lane right past the Wolnski's driveway. It cuts off access to the Marsh's, Denton's and Lathem's lots. We have some neighbors across Hwy. 41 named Tim and Pam Flynn. They have horses and have permission to ride the property behind ours on the mountain. If no one objects we ought to let them continue to cross our property to get to their trails. They came through this weekend, stopped to visit and let the Wright, Wesson and Wolnski kids pet and ride their horses. We are scheduled to have the property lines of the North East corner flagged within the next two weeks. This is so we can accurately market the + or - 3 acres to potential buyers. If you know anyone interested in looking at it have them get with me and I'll tell them everything we know to date. After the holidays, we'll try to schedule an association meeting to review the budget, prioritize capital projects and discuss any open issues.
